Civil Partnerships

Same sex couples who enter into a civil ceremony have very similar (although not identical), legal rights as a married couple under the new law which came into force in December 2005. Children who are born to either partner are treated as children of the family. Our team of specialist family lawyers can advise you on all aspects of the law including, for example, parental responsibility for a child.

If your civil partnership has broken down, we can advise you as to how to obtain a dissolution (similar to a divorce) from the court, and advise you as to what financial claims you or your ex partner may have.
